FAMILY PROMISE OF LAS VEGAS CELEBRATES THE GROUNDBREAKING OF THE CREDIT ONE BANK FAMILY PROMISE OF LAS VEGAS NAVIGATION CENTER JUNE 15, 2023

On Thursday, June 15th, Family Promise of Las Vegas celebrated the groundbreaking of the new Family Navigation Center Building, a 12,300 square foot resource center and 10 bridge apartments, on land that was donated by Clark County. The new Family Navigation Center will feature onsite housing, case management services and support services to families experiencing homelessness in Clark County, Nevada.
The June 15th groundbreaking ceremony took place on the vacant lot and future site of the Center, marking the official launch of Family Promise’s Share The Promise 2023 Capital Campaign launch. Tick Segerblom Clark County Commissioner District E, Leonard Chide, Credit One Bank Community Reinvestment Officer, addressed the audience of more than 100 community supporters, family and friends of FPLV gathered to celebrate the long-awaited occasion.

Prevent Homelessness

Family Promise of Las Vegas is excited to announce our “Share the Promise” Capital Campaign!  The FPLV Family Navigation will become our agency’s permanent site for services, and a dedicated resource center for families at risk for or experiencing homelessness in Southern Nevada. The need for our services in Southern Nevada has grown year over year since our opening in 1996. This new 8,000+ square foot facility will provide the capacity to double our impact and ensure families experiencing homelessness in Southern Nevada have an opportunity to make their dreams come true.

We are well on our way to a full-service Family Navigation Center with the award of 1.1 acres of land and a $5.3 million Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) from Clark Country. Our goal is to raise $2.54 million to complete the building and strengthen the programs that allow families to achieve independence and long-term stability. The FPLV Family Navigation Center will incorporate

a variety of amenities.

The space is designed to streamline services for Families in need of assistance. It will include:

  • Transitional apartments, with staff available 24/7 to assist families.
  • A computer work room for all members of the family to take online courses, seek employment or work on homework.
  • Classroom space to serve individuals with life skills education and classes specific to their needs. Examples include Parenting Skills, Financial Management and Good Tenancy classes.
  • A children's learning center specifically designed to provide books, play stations and an environment of childhood wonder.
  • An emergency clothing hygiene needs closet.
  • A designated space for laundry needs.
  • Full-service kitchen facilities where families can prepare their meals.
  • Outdoor spaces that foster community and outdoor family activities.

Family Promise of Las Vegas

assists Southern
Nevada families

Family Promise of Las Vegas (FPLV) assists Southern Nevada families facing a homeless situation to transition from homelessness to stability and independence through compassionate guidance, shelter, and education. As community need grows, FPLV offers innovative approaches to address the unique needs of a family, supporting the whole family unit, and ensuring the family stays intact during their transition. Our case management staff works diligently with each family to develop a plan and set goals unique to each family and their needs.

Housing Stabilization
/Financial Assistance

With financial support from government grants and local funders, FPLV assists with homeless prevention services. Families often need only a short-term hand up to avoid homelessness and keep their children in a safe environment.

The Family Navigation Center

...is the hub of all services for case management, prevention services and education workshops. While the Family Navigation Center provides the space for growth and efficiency, our programs are the key element for families to achieve success.

Case
Management

From initial assessment, to developing a personal responsibility plan, to on-going consultation, our case managers steer families to the services and new skills they need to live independently and thrive.

Educational
Workshops

Classes focusing on Financial Management, Parenting and Good Tenancy as well as other life skills training opportunities.

Just Neighbors
Support Network

New since 2020, this program brings volunteers from organizations such as congregations, corporations and community groups to support families enrolled in FPLV programs.

Bridge housing offers transitional living situations as families navigate through a homeless episode. The Family Navigation Center will provide transitional housing units where families can work closely with case managers.
